The Vikings trailed at halftime in their first encounter with the Wildcats this season but rallied to take the win by 2-0. Asia Jota helped Azkue for the match’s first goal of the second half and then made a critical save late in the match. The Vikings made it 6-2 so far on the year.
Olaitz Azkue Scores Game-Winner
The Vikings did not score in the first half, but Olaitz Azkue was able to make the difference in only five minutes into the second half. Asia Jota played a perfect ball for Azkue who was able to put it in the goal to give the Vikings the lead and eventually take the match 2-0.

The Vikings are scheduled to play Northwestern on Wednesday, to kick off with the UMAC Tournament. The team hopes at making it into the semis for the first time in program history.
Asia Jota scores second goal
Jota was joined by Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez in scoring for Liverpool after they beat Leeds to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League. Liverpool were completely in control after an flurry of scoring in the second half as they thrashed Leeds. Elland Road team.

Bethany Wins 2-0
For the second time this year, the Vikings did not score until halftime at Martin Luther and it was the same Olaitz Azkue who scored the game-winner in less than five minutes into the second half to give Bethany the win. In the end, with this win Bethany has improved to 7-4-1 overall and 6-1 in UMAC play.
In a season where the team has struggled to score consistently, the defense has been a rock to The Lady Vikings. They’ve only let teams to shoot greater than 30 percent from the 3-point range for four out of the nine games. They lead in the Big Sky with a.765 free throw percent.
Alaya Fitzgerald, nicknamed Lay, has been one of major reasons for the Vikings’ success from the beginning of the new season. A freshman wing averages a team-best 13.0 points per game through the last nine games after the start of the season. She also has an average of 4.6 rebounding, 1.9 steals and 1.8 assists.
